A word from the swim coach

I was very happy to receive the results of the swim stroke test today. The coach sent me a note where he says, "The results of your test set are pretty damn impressive".
These are very encouraging words. It turns out the stroke count is very good. The plan now is to continue to practice with the team to work on improving my speed and endurance while maintaining efficiency.
Good stuff...

Now, where do I get a pair of these..?

  1. Hi Mauro,

I see that you´re also training for IM Lanzarote, the hardest IM in the world. We´re all crazy

I was wondering why you chose Lanzarote, a place so different from Chicago, in fact so different from any other place on earth.

I went there last august to train and I can tell you that the swim course will be quite “easy” (no currents, crystal clear waters,…), the bike will be “terrible”: wind, isolation, empty spaces (I never had to fight against such a wind) and 4 hard climbs before you reach Mirador del Río. Finally the marathon course is relatively flat along the seaside.

The whole island is “IronMan friendly” as this is the only relevant international event they host and the atmosphere is very TRI.

Keep your motivation and focus on the bike as much as you can

    Good Luck
    Javier
